We aim to provide a selfless duty of care to individuals with special needs with a sense of love and compassion. And we ensure that we have a lot of fun in our endeavour along the way.

ABOUT US

Anerley Across - since 1982

Ben and Christina Cahill founded the Anerley Across Charity in 1982. We are a bona fide registered religious charity organization: Charity number: 1095806

Through many fundraising events throughout the year, we take groups of special needs & sick children and adults on ten-day holidays to Lourdes. We arrange to travel by coach/ambulance by hiring ‘the jumbulance’ from Across Scotland and book a suitable hotel in Lourdes. Many people are unable to fly due to their disabilities or complex needs but with the jumbulance and the stretcher beds and medical equipment on board we can “make the impossible possible” for them.

Anerley Across has since moved location from Anerley to Addiscombe. Anerley Across is a well established name and the moniker stuck. In fact, the location is not crucial because we assist ‘special people’ with special needs from any number of locations.

Through our funding, we establish a group of carers. This involves finding and visiting the special need individual prior to leaving on a trip and finding all our helpers. We travel very much as a team made up of helpers and VIP’s (our patients). Our team consists of 14 able-bodied men and women, including a doctor, priest, male and female nurses and 10 VIP’s. Many of our helpers travel with us every year.
